On September 25, 2023, SSABIS hosted its inaugural Sub Sahara Africa Business and Investment Summit (SSABIS) in New York, NY. The Summit, which was a Trade and Investment promotion event was organized by Chronicles Consulting Group (CCG). The Summit-themed “Africa the New Frontier – “Mobilizing Trade and Investment into Sub-Sahara Africa.” was held at the Nigerian Consulate Ballroom in Manhattan.

In keeping with the SSABIS mission, the conference aimed to attract foreign investment by bringing together global investors and African decision-makers to exchange ideas and negotiate deals, to foster economic growth and development on the continent.

A welcome address from SSABIS founder, Ms. Joyce Rogers Halliday opened the event. The conference was conducted in the form of individual speakers and moderated panels. Former USA Ambassador to Nigeria and several other African countries, Ambassador Renee Robins Sanders chaired the event. Key talking points included Africa’s strategic importance, investment benefits and challenges, cross-border initiatives such as easier mobility for East African countries, and enhanced cross-border commerce. Each session concluded with a Q&A session with lively participation from the audience.
